CONTEMPORARY
WHITE & BLACK WEDDING ON KALYMNOS ISLAND

Sarah & Andrew

With a chic and classy color pallet of white, black and gold it is no surprise that Sarah's and Andrew's contemporary wedding was an eye-catcher. The couple share a love for hiking and since they started dating they have spend their summer days on Kalymnos island which is known for this sport. For the duo it was clear from the begging that they wanted to leave their mark on the island that was special to them while offering their guest group of 20 an unique experience for their most beautiful day, so they decided to have a destination wedding on this Greek island gem.

Wedding designers Golden Apple expertly planned a day that was filled with effortless elegance at every turn while Kay Creations florists conceptualized only clean white roses for this avant-garde wedding story. The couple's invitation suite was clean, minimal and chic and sat the bar high to the heaven of paper goods. The graphic designer created an illustration of the couple on the raw paper with a bold artful white paint-detail next to it that created a less is more statement.

Sarah looked stunningly beautiful in her show-stopping bridal gown with exquisite details with the white Christian Louboutin shoes and sapphire wedding ring complementing her whole bridal look. Andrew was replete in his Hugo Boss tuxedo which he paired with a black bow tie leather shoes while his groomsmen wore similar tuxedos to keep up with the black-and-white wedding scheme.

As location, the couple choose La Playa, a small charming boutique hotel, located on the Cliffside of the island with an mesmerizing view of the sea. The ceremony scene simply took everyone's breath away from the rose petal walkway, the clean white chairs that lined the aisle as well as the two bold white urns on bases filled with hydrangea blooms that were placed at the top of the aisle. As guests arrived, fans and programs of the symbolic ceremony were given to them. Sarah walked down the aisle holding a statement bridal bouquet of white roses and wedding photographer Spiros Tsampikakis made sure to capture every little steal-worthy detail of this elegant affair. After the couple exchanged their vows and were pronounced husband and wife a saxophone player started jamming and champagne was served to the guests before leaving to the reception area.

As the dinner location, the newlyweds choose Aegean Restaurant which is a definitely outside the box choose for a reception gathering. Sarah worked closely with head florist designer Katerina as it was important to her to have a clean, contemporary tablescape design with a nod of art. We placed a long table in the most ethereal setting with the spectacular backdrop of the azure water of the sea and topped it with beige cloth, crystal glassware, chargers with a gold rhythm, gold cutleries, grey candle sticks and bold sculpt head-vases of the Greek mythology filled with white blooms and green foliage that added more texture to the monochromatic tableware. The night was completed with the cutting of their wedding cheesecake at sunset before everyone returned to the hotel beach area where they danced the night away with the umbrellas covered in fairy lights.
