Destination christenings are like small vacations for traveling guests and at Michail Baptism in Athens there was no exception. Michail's parents love to travel the world and what better way than to celebrate their new journey as parents with a faraway celebration at a beautiful Orthodox church in Palio Faliro.

The globetrotter theme elements included world map backdrops, airplanes coasters, luggage and globes as well as passport theme corners. The guests were welcomed into the chapel with a "Welcome Aboard" sign and a vase filled with charming baby breath flowers. The whole color scheme was made of bright colors of navy blue, red, turquoise hues and touches of yellow and green tones. The flower decor was exclusively made from white baby breath that looked like being on the clouds while giving high and shape.

The little ones served themselves with delicious candies, cake pops, glassed donuts, cupcakes, biscuits and cotton candy from the dessert table. The Cakers pastry shop created all the travel-themed candies keeping it more fun while the table was decorated with navy blue linens and a flag garland. Golden Apple Weddings placed a backdrop quote with Michail's name on the buffet which was just one of the many beautiful and creative ideas there.

We turned one of the couples favorite forms of traveling into a statement details by hiring the mobile bar Saint Bernard which served signature cocktails to the adults and water to the little ones. Next to the mobile bar there was a thematic corner where guests could take photos with a big passport sign and different traveling props.

The couple wanted to show their gratitude with their guests so they offered them thematic standout-thank-you gifts of small metallic boxed shaped as a luggage and filled with delicious treats for the kids and the adults received a Plexiglas printer coaster that had a special travel note under an airplane. After the ceremony, a dinner for all the guests followed to complete the celebration. For the entertainment of the kids, we had organized a group of people to offer them special gifts and play during the dinner time. We always advice our couple to take care of that detail that will ensure that the starring persons of a baptism day are happy and parents enjoy the meal!
