A tropical occasion, the christening of baby Ilias!

The christening took place on a warm summer day in a small chapel at the edge of the mountain Filerimos. We chose to bring this unique occasion to life with a color palette of green, brown, and orange. Knowing the chapels potential and beauty we felt like a Tropical Jungle theme would be just right!

The decoration elements we envisioned were wood and exotic greenery with key role the monstera and banana leafs. We wanted to create an exotic, contemporary and unique atmosphere for the guests. The mother of Ilias trusted us with every decision so we gave our uttermost and created an enchanting mood and beautiful christening.

Kay Creations creative strategy was to mix the tropical jungle concept with flowers rich in color. The floral choices were the paradise flowers in orange tones and one peculiar variety of protea flowers. All graphic design elements were made by Manousenia Designs including the hand written calligraphy invitations and the custom made animal illustrations.

Entering the small garden pathway of the church guests were welcomed by a welcome sign with the name of baby Ilias. Just beside the church entry door we created a small area for the guests to take pictures with a big wooden backdrop wall that had a giraffe and exotic flower decoration. A few meters away we placed the safari hats favors for girls and boys and small jungle animal toys for the little ones. Of course the colorful dragees of Xatzigianaki were also placed there, a must have in every christening. We also placed a second backdrop wall that guest could admire Ilias belongings including a handmade box with his clothes, lampada and jewelry.

Outside the church door we created an arch with rich exotic greenery and flowers, the same decoration elements where used for the baby tub. All these details came together to create a summer tropical jungle ambiance.

We set up a lovely lemon stand to refresh the guests after the service and a delicious candy table to satisfy the sweet tooth. Katerina Karagianni, the pastry chef, created a beautiful food display of tasty treats that were all hand drawn, everyone was amazed by the sweet bites!

After the Christering, a dinner for the whole family and closest friends followed. The tables centerpiece were tall glass vases with flourishing flowers and blue glasses.
