WHIMSICAL VILLA CHRISTENING IN RHODES

Sophia

Sofia's whimsical christening was an absolute dream with darling decorations, and plenty of fairy-tale fun! It was a Midsummer day when Sofia's family came together with a few close friends to bring this fairytale christening to life. The ceremony and reception took place at their private mansion lush garden featuring quirky details and bold color choices of bright pinks and rich hues of gold. The family comes from Rhodes but most of the members -4 brothers & sisters- are leaving in the USA. Coming back to its roots to celebrate this special day to their childhood home, was an amazing experience they were planning with great impatience! It was a great opportunity to be all together again after a long long time and the kid’s uncles where the godparents!

The property holds a ethereal family chapel which was just the right spot for Sofia's intimate baptism. After the ceremony guests were invited to have a drink at the refreshment stand. Kay Creation provided the furniture of a gorgeous vintage white wooden table where we placed jars of lemonade and water for the guests. The eye-catching decoration elements included a hanging installation of grape leafs and small bouquets of different roses in bright pinks and ivory. It was Sofia's family wish to incorporate grapes into the decoration theme. After having some refreshments, guest proceeded down to the dinner reception where round tables were decorated to recreate a whimsical ambiance. Each table was dressed with white linen while the tabletop was set with a centerpiece of boldly colored flowers placed inside white vases and some candle around it.

On the other side of the garden guests could help themselves to a candy buffer where dessert dreams are made of. The first thing that guests noticed when they reached the candy buffer was the balloon garland that looked like it was floating on air. The handmade sweats, cupcakes and candies from pastry Choco Cake were placed into golden stands that were guaranteed to give guests a sugar high. On the lawn we placed some golden candle holders to pop up the candy bar decor. Each guest took home a small champagne and a jar of marmalade.

What makes this “work” so unique is that for us it is not work on any meaning. Each family we meet is a new opportunity to share love and feelings. During the organization process we come very close and the day of the event is the highlight! And this is not the end but just the begging of a new friendship!
