When Nicholas and Carla got in touch with us from down under for a chic Greece destination wedding in Rhodes Island, we couldn't help but enthuse over the idea of setting one of the most talked-about, elegant venues in Rhodes under their radar. Kallithea translates as "stunning view", and as the name suggests, Kallithea Springs comes with the most seductive vistas a chic couple like these two loving Aussies could wish for.
Designed by the Italian architect Pietro Lombardi (whose works crest some of Rome's most famed 19th-century fountains for the traditional quarters), Kallithea Springs, dotted with palm trees, cobbled pathways, mosaic flooring, lush gardens, and a dreamy, ornate rotunda have etched their way into eternity, not only because they remain one of Rhodes island's greatest gems, but because they have taken their fair share of 9 Hollywood films from the 60s till 2007. No better place for Nicholas and Carla to say I'll be forever yours, right?
This young couple has a unique story behind the choice of their wedding destination. Nickolas family coming from Greece and his parents got married on a very young age. The decision was quickly and they have chosen the whitewashed St.Apostoloi chapel in Rhodes. This is the start of the dream for Nicholas & Carla, to tie the knot at the same place and continue the story. The same dream comes for their baby; being Greeks that leave abroad have always the heart full of the Greek spirit and dream to celebrating their personal moments in places meaningful for personal reasons.
Their big day was designed Carla's classical wedding scheme in mind, making sure we incorporated fine details that would ooze pretty without making things too overwhelming for the couple and their guests. A white wedding ceremony on Kallithea Springs' large terrace just off the waterfront set the tone for the romantic dinner at the Rotunda. Strings of Italian lights, white blooms from Kay Creations Rhodes and long wooden tables topped with candles, and greenery added to the ambiance while the exotic gardens and frescoed interiors of the rotunda made for a beautiful backdrop for the bride and grooms portraits.
