A Bohemian Wedding on Chalki Island: Elisa & Astren Tie the Knot

On the 20th of September, 2023, the tranquil and picturesque Chalki Island, a gem in the Aegean Sea, played host to a remarkable wedding ceremony. Elisa and Astren, a Greek-Australian couple, chose this idyllic location to mark the beginning of their new journey together.

The ceremony was held in a symbolic style, a reflection of the couple's deep and spiritual connection. The island's serene beauty was complemented by the wild and wispy bohemian styling the couple chose for their wedding. The 50 guests, a gathering of close-knit friends and family from Greece and Australia, were treated to a feast for the senses.

Staying at the Villa Ftenagia, the couple and their guests were surrounded by the island's natural beauty. The earthy shades of the environment were mirrored in the wedding color palette, with burnt orange, grey-green, and terracotta hues adding a vibrant touch to the flowers, fabrics, and printings.

The wedding was a true bohemian dream, with wild and wispy styling that infused earthy shades, burnt orange, and grey-green hues. Terracotta accents were thoughtfully incorporated into the decor, from the flowers to the fabrics and printing, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The floral arrangements were a sight to behold, featuring a stunning variety of roses, carnations, Ornithogalum, pincushion proteas, chrysanthemums, bunny tails, and an abundance of eucalyptus, olive branches, and other greenery. The botanical beauty was enriched by elements like air plants, cymbidium orchids, pampas grass, and even a touch of prickly pear cactus. The choice of flowers and greenery, including solidago, lilies, and magnolia leaves, created a mesmerizing tapestry of colors and textures.

The ceremony space in a piece of beautiful land, was transformed into a natural wonderland, with a two-floor flower synthesis adorning the central backdrop, combining real and dried blooms. Pampas grass and dried flowers framed the central ceremony area, while terracotta accents were gracefully placed at the corners of the stage. Wooden x-back chairs lined the aisle, and a carpet strewn with flowers guided the way to the couple’s future together.

The reception was a vision of rustic elegance, with beige napkins featuring terracotta printed menus, all elegantly placed on a rattan charger. Adding a unique touch to the styling, broken pottery pieces with calligraphy names served as name tags. Tables were decorated with beige linens and terracotta table runners, enhanced by macrame decorations featuring a profusion of flowers and greenery on the couple’s chairs. Ceramic vases, brimming with lush blooms, added a touch of opulence to the scene.

The lovebirds chose the idyllic Pondamos Restaurant for their reception, where guests were treated to a tasteful journey through Greek cuisine. The menu served in a sharing style, delighted everyone’s taste buds with the rich flavors of Greece, bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to their Australian guests.

Elisa and Astren’s wedding was a masterpiece of love, where Greek and Australian culture intertwined in a charming bohemian setting, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of their loved ones.
