WEDDING AT KALAMI BEACH IN RHODES MERGING SOMETHING BLUE WITH DESTINATION GOALS
Alex & Angela
Rhodes is an island that has been for ages celebrating dreamers, and in the case of Angela and Alex, California dreamers! Their wedding at Kalami beach in Rhodes merged something blue with destination goals and the result was a stunningly pretty affair topped with the best beach vibes to covet for the new season.
Alex grew up in Belgium and soon after his tech studies headed to where all the techies in the world dream to be, the golden state of Silicon Valley and endless sunsets, and apparently the place he would meet his soulmate, Angela. It was love at first contact with the agreeable couple and planning their wedding in Rhodes a breeze.
The beautiful duo wished to experience the raw nature of the island but also land a venue that could offer them and their guests the opportunity to unwind, taste delicious dishes and carry the languid vibes of a chic getaway hub. Kalami beach bar in Kallithea, Rhodes comes as perfect as can be, with sun loungers across the powder-soft beach, a hip restaurant right off the waterfront featuring elegant rattan seating and long oak tables, reed canopies where wooden chimes dance against the breeze and gastronomic choice to sate the most delectable foodies.
The big day began with an orthodox church wedding ceremony (Alex's roots are part Greek, part Italian) at _CHURCHNAME_ (If you're looking for the most beautiful medieval church-facade on the island you've found it) attended by guests from over 20 countries (talk about quite the multicultural group!). Angela's bridesmaids wore the cutest floral bridesmaid dresses and Alex went for a blue suit (hello Pantone color of the year 2020) and a matching liberty floral tie.
Needless to say, it was all about the blues at the dinner reception too, with gauzy light blue linen, evil eye favors, blue flipflops, even blue pastry and a ruffled blue wedding cake by the artisans of Sugar Gardens. Kay Creations added to the pretty with cream flower arrangements and olive branches sure to match the natural hues of the venue and add a classic Greek note.
The party began with firework sticks and the bride and groom's first dance and speeches and as you can only expect when in Greece, lasted till morn. Gratitude to the talented Stelios Kallisperis for capturing the pretty and to the couple's DJ Despo Mania for keeping us all dancing till the wee hours!
